The chambered nautilus, one of the oldest life forms on earth, is the epitome of the equiangular spiral. It also incorporates the Golden Mean. Pythagorus calculated that shapes whose sides have a ratio of 1:618 were the most pleasing of all. Fibonacci later expressed the ratio as a progression of prime numbers. (SPIRALS - EQUIANGULAR)
